We typically give our girls the option of a trip or a party for their birthday, but this year we said yes to both. Carter definitely deserved (and appreciated) the extra celebration. Age 9 is such a big age for birthday parties, and a very last minute Pancake and Pajamas party seemed like the perfect addition to her trip to Texas. I made and sent out the invites on Sunday for a Friday night party. I let her invite all of her friends (fully expecting several of them to have plans since it was so last minute), and almost every single one of them came. Craig says no one has other plans when we invite them to a party at our house, but I've always been of the more the merrier philosophy...he has not! haha! Even with last minute preparations, it turned out so cute. Every party needs at least one extra special and personal touch, so I painted the pancake sign. Carter LOVED it (despite its imperfections), which was all that actually mattered.
Carter has the sweetest group of friends, and we loved watching how much they loved celebrating with her.
