Celebrating 7 with Family

We had a couple of small celebrations for Charley's birthday before her trip to Universal.  We had lunch and cake at Texas Roadhouse for the birthday twins and Aunt Cindy.  Grandad Mike has officially rubbed off on Craig, because I caught him trying to hide a salt shaker in Aunt Cindy's purse...hilarious!

On the night before our trip, we let Charley open her presents and cards.  Amma had already given her Luciana, the new American Girl doll of the year, but she also got her the cutest, sparkle slide sandals. Carter got Charley a birthstone necklace and earrings from Puckett's...and was super upset and confused on why she wasn't opening presents, too.

Cheer Derby

Amma and I checked Charley out of school early and headed to Louisville for the Cheer Derby competition.  We had a fun dinner Friday night with the Plummers and tried to get in bed early since the competition started before the crack of dawn.  We had to be up, ready, fed and at the meet spot at the competition by 6:30 a.m. (which was 5:30 a.m. our time)...SO EARLY!  Despite the time, the girls did a great job and took home 3rd place!  The beauty of starting so early meant we had a full day of shopping and fun girl time in Louisville!

Another Cheerville Weekend

The Grinches didn't get a trophy, but Daddy wore his Cheerville shirt and had a super positive attitude...let's call that a win!!!  Cheerleading is a new world for him, but he's figuring it out!  It's simple math....good attitude + minimal complaining = happy momma!   😂
