Happy Father's Day

This past weekend was Father's Day, and we had a great time!  Charley and I bought Craig new sunglasses a few weeks ago, so he had already gotten his present.  Gramma and Granddad came down for the weekend, and we went to Chuy's to celebrate on Saturday.  We all went to church Sunday, then had lunch at Olive Garden...Dad typically doesn't like I-talian, but he didn't want a stupid Subway sandwich (I had originally picked Which Wich.)

Charley was definitely the center of attention this weekend...not only was it her Daddy's first Father's Day, but it was also her Granddaddy's first Father's Day as a Grandparent.  Special occasions are so much better when a baby is involved, and I am so thankful for the family weekend that we had together!

Weekend in Atlanta

A few weeks ago we made the trip to Atlanta for Craig's cousin, Allison's wedding.  It was a LONG trip for Charley.  We had to take the back roads for most of the way, because of a big music festival going on along I 24...which was way longer than the normal route!  We did enjoy a quick trip to IKEA, dinner with great friends, the wedding, and church with his grandparents.  We stayed at Carole's house, which was amazing!!!  Craig couldn't get over how perfectly organized things were...which was right up his alley!

Charley seems to do OK in the car, but when all else fails, there is only one trick that will work and Craig HATES it!!!!  The Lady Gaga CD pretty much calms her down every time!  I keep saying that I am gonna be in trouble when I hear her singing the words in the backseat.  If she is anything like me, she won't be able to figure them out.  I think I have listened to one of her songs at least 100 times, and I still only know a few lines!

3 Month Photo Session

It has been such a joy to see Charley's personality emerge over the last month.  She hasn't quite figured out that she is a baby, but seems to think she is a big girl!  She has excellent head control and loves to stand up.   She has started giggling and smiling and she jabbers all the time!!!  I sure wish I knew what she was saying!  She wasn't very cooperative during the photo session, but we managed to get a few cute pictures!

The Big Bottle Spill!

One thing is for certain about Charley...when she is hungry, she lets your know right away!  On this particular day, she got hungry and mad about 15 miles from home.  I told Gramma to go ahead and fix her bottle and give it to her in the car.  About 5 seconds after starting to feed her, Gramma realized that the lid wasn't on the bottle and she spilled it ALL OVER CHARLEY!!!  She was ticked, but we couldn't stop laughing!  She had to ride the rest of the way home soaking wet and hungry!  I had to get a quick picture before we changed her clothes and gave her a new bottle!!!

Happy 80th Birthday Papa

I am so glad we were able to be in Kentucky for Papa's 80th Surprise Birthday Party!  Over 75 people gathered in the large pavilion at the park.  He was definitely surprised and really enjoyed mingling, eating, and listening to Dawson's entertainment!

Uncle Justin Graduates from MSU

CONGRATULATIONS UNCLE JUSTIN!!!!  We spent the weekend in KY to celebrate Justin's graduation from Murray State University!  We are so proud of him and his accomplishments!  Charley stayed with Haley and Logan during the graduation.  I think Dad and I counted over 1,100 seats for the graduates, so it was a good decision to not take her!  Haley told us that Logan said, "There is not much sitting to this babysitting!" SO TRUE!!!

We had a celebration cookout for Justin's close friends and family.  Charley supported her Uncle Justin by wearing MSU colors!!!

2 Month Photo Session

Charley had her two month checkup and everything looked great!  She weighed 10 pounds, 5 ounces and was 23 inches long.  She wasn't a fan of the first round of shots, but Momma and Gramma calmed her down pretty quick!

My First Mother's Day

Mother's Day was so special this year.  Not only was it my first Mother's Day, but I was able to spend it with my daughter, mother and grandmother.  We took our very first "4 Generations" picture.  They all came to our house to spend the weekend.  We spent Friday and Saturday working around the house.  Grandaddy Charlie, Granddad (Dad), and Craig built awesome shelves in the garage, while the rest of us organized the house and arranged our new living room furniture.  (I will post pictures of the furniture once I finish accessorizing!)

Sunday was Baby Dedication at College Hills church of Christ.  It was the perfect way to celebrate my first Mother's Day.  All of the babies born in the last year were recognized, prayed over and given a new story Bible.  OF COURSE, Charley was the only baby that cried the whole time!  I dropped her paci while trying to calm her down, and immediately put it back in her mouth...dirty and all!  I guess Charley wanted to make a lasting, first impression!

Happy Easter

Preparing for Easter was so much fun this year, and I am sure it will only get better as Charley grows!  Before she was born (while Momma and Gramma were walking every mall around), we found the perfect Easter dress at Janie and Jack.  I waited until they offered their  Friends and Family discount, and was so excited when I got the call a few weeks before Easter that the dress was on sale!  Finding an Easter basket and filling it with goodies was also fun!  I have been waiting to have a baby so I could get one of those adorable Easter baskets at Pottery Barn Kids!  We filled the basket with the Bambi DVD (since it came out of the Disney vault), a baby beach towel, eggs, and candy for Momma and Daddy!

We spent Easter weekend in Kentucky, so we could go to church and celebrate with family.  Each year will be more and more special as Charley learns the true meaning behind the holiday and enjoys all the fun kid things too!

1 Month Photo Session

Here are some pictures from Charley's 1 Month Photo Session!  I can't wait to see how she changes over the next 12 months!
