April 10-First Church Service and Granddad's Birthday

Grandad had a very special birthday this year since Charley was around to celebrate with him.  We went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner, and I think he stared at her the whole time!  He was so funny to watch at church on Sunday.  He strutted around showing her off to everyone with a big smile on his face.  Charley was good, and made it through her first service without getting up until class time. (That hasn't been the case since...I think she wants to be seen, so she averages a few trips to the nursery each Sunday!)  Granny Martha made a feast for lunch, which was a great way to celebrate Granddad's birthday and Charley's first church service.

All dressed up for the first time in a while!

Uncle Justin bought this outfit for Charley when she was in the hospital.

Pretty in pink!

What a sweet face she is making at Granny Martha!

Charley goes to Kentucky for the first time!

Since we couldn't bring all of Benton to Tennessee, we decided to take Tennessee to Benton!  Since Charley was only two and a half weeks old, we pretty much stayed at Gramma and Granddad's house....with the exception of Gwen Moss Photography for newborn pictures, Feagan's to get new furniture, Granny Martha and Granddaddy Charlie's house to visit, Catfish Kitchen to see Wes and Judy and Granny Katherine and Papa's house for Sunday dinner....it's a good thing Charley likes to be on the go, or we would be in trouble!

Charley's First Bath

After getting a lesson from Mom on how to give a bath, Craig and I gave it a try.  We needed our fair share of help the first time, because we were so afraid she would break!  (We now know that won't happen!)  We did have to be extra careful the first few weeks until her umbilical cord came off.

Not too sure what to think at first

Lots of visitors

The first couple of weeks at home with Charley are a little bit of a blur.  I think I had every possible reaction to my pain medicine, which was rough when mixed with no sleep!  I don't know how, but we managed to capture a picture of most of our visitors.

She must like what she sees!

Aunt Marsha, Aunt Katie, Melanie, Dawson and Granny Katherine came to visit

Welcome Home, Charley!

On Saturday, after being in the hospital for three days, we were able to take Charley home!  After making a pit stop at Baja Burrito to get something to-go, we made it home.  (Obviously my pregnancy craving of Mexican food didn't stop once I had the baby!)  Mom got the video camera out to capture us welcoming Charley home for the first time!  Needless to say, a video lesson beforehand would have come in handy since all we got of our 5 minute homecoming was about 10 seconds of us closing the door with mom's finger in the righthand corner!  I guess that was an appropriate beginning to life with a baby!!!

First time in the car seat...she looks so tiny!

Heading to the car

Home Sweet Home...staged, of course, to make up for not catching this moment on video :)

Love at first sight

Lots of people couldn't wait to get their hands on Charley at the hospital.  We were so excited for all of the love and support shown from our friends and family.  Charley is so lucky to have so many people to love her from the moment they laid eyes on her.

Notice all the visits from "aunts."  Justin is Charley's only real uncle...which means we may be waiting a while for an aunt :) We are so thankful for all of our "honorary" aunts and uncles!

Charley Ann Robinson - March 9, 2011

Well my due date of March 3rd came and went without any sign of Charley!  I tried EVERYTHING in the book to naturally induce labor...but NOTHING worked!  Mom and I walked every mall and shopping center in Middle Tennessee, and we ate Mexican food everyday!  Finally on Tuesday morning, March 8, I woke up at 4 a.m. with contractions.  Around 5 a.m., I woke Craig and Mom up and we got ready for my doctor's appointment.  We called the doctor's office as soon as they opened, and they told us to come on in.  After my exam, she sent us straight to the hospital.  We all thought March 8th would be the big day, but Charley had different plans.  After being in labor for over 24 hours, Dr. Storck decided that I would have to have a C-Section.
Our last picture as the two of us before we left for the hospital
Our precious, baby girl finally arrived on March 9, 2011 at 8:04 a.m.  She weighed 7 pounds 8 ounces and was 19 inches long....Did I mention that she was absolutely perfect?
