2 Years and 3 Months

Every day at our house is a new experience of some sort, so the best way to capture the highlights of the last three months has to be in pictures....
We’ve graduated to the “jumbo” bow...and I can’t handle the super-sized cuteness!
Miss Priss has gotten very adventurous and independent on the playground.
She LOVES to color and put stickers on things.  This was Granddad Mike’s Birthday card....and yes, she refused to wear both bows!
First, of many to come I am sure, black eye :(
Charley filled her pocket full of Buddy’s dog food and fed him one piece at a time!
First tatoo...Thanks Uncle Mike (Momma and Daddy got one, too!)
Looking, a.k.a. picking, some pretty flowers
Winding down before bedtime with her iPad
Helping Momma at Kroger...she holds the list and helps me mark each item off as we put it in the cart!
Fun night with baby Harper...and no, I am not brave enough for an over night sleepover just yet!
Sharing the first ice cream of the year from Belew’s with Granddad.
Fun park day with Amma
No caption necessary...the cuteness says it all!
Just out to lunch with Momma and Amma...in an outfit that she requested to wear!
Sad day at church :(  Last day to be in Mr. Jim and Mrs. Liz’s Tick Tock Class...such great teachers!!!
We sure miss them!

Elliston Place Soda Shop

From the minute I discovered Elliston Place my freshman year of college, I was hooked.  Something about the hole-in-the-wall joint that had not been redecorated since it was built in the 1940’s captivated me.  Maybe I felt like I was in “Grease” or something, but I have always loved eating there any chance I could get.  I have spent many lunches, dates, girl’s nights, and celebrations at that dump, and I couldn’t have been more excited to introduce Charley to the place that holds so many college memories for me.  To an outsider it may not be so special, especially since it probably hasn’t been cleaned since the 1940’s and the waitresses probably started working there when it opened and haven’t been excited about their job in about 50 years, but the food and atmosphere make up for what it’s lacking.  My favorite is the hand-dipped, vanilla shake, which makes the perfect ending to a grilled cheese and fried okra.  Charley and I had already had lunch, but when she asked for ice cream, I knew Elliston Place would fulfill her craving...and mine, too!  Miss Priss loved sitting on the red bar stool drinking her very own vanilla shake, and I couldn’t have been more proud to be sitting next to her in one of my very favorite places.

Zoo Day

Ever since Lulu gave Charley a zoo membership for her first birthday, I couldn’t wait until the perfect time to activate it.  Lucky for us it didn’t expire, because I waited over a year before we went for the first time...my reasoning was based on the ridiculous hot summer we had last year, and I just wasn’t up to wrestling Miss Priss in the 100 plus degree temperatures.  And just because I tend to exaggerate just a little...last summer was miserable and here is proof!

So when Aunt Tuck asked us to go with them to the zoo during Memorial week, we were finally ready to get our membership activated.  We had a great time with Aunt Tuck, Baby Finley, Miss Camille, Miss Candace, Coleman, his buddy and Baby Crockett.  Momma made a little boo boo and told Charley they had hippos and lions, which they didn’t, but she seemed pretty satisfied with the elephants, giraffes, and monkeys.  I have only really been to one other zoo...THE ZOO...in San Diego, so as much as Nashville zoo is a great zoo, I've kind of been spoiled.  All in all, we had a great day with friends, learned a few zoo lessons, and can’t wait to go back soon!!!

Memorial Day Cookout

It seems like it has been months since we got together with the Goode’s and Steele’s, so a Memorial Day Cookout was a perfect time to catch up.  We went to Gar and Ray Ray’s house, and the girls were so sweet and cute together!  We have planned some more fun things for the summer, and Charley and I are definitely looking forward to it!  We did take a little trip down memory lane and shared great laughs at some of our “finer” moments in pictures.  We should probably lock them up before our girls become teenagers and haunt us with them!  Too bad we all can’t be naturally adorable like these girlies!

Happy Memorial Day!!!!

Sam’s 4th Birthday Party

Sam’s 4th birthday party was at Monkey’s Tree House in Cool Springs, and Charley had sooo much fun!!!!  The theme was “inja turtles” aka “Ninja Turtles” and everything was super cute!
