Best. Secret. Ever....Disney!

When the FWC meeting was scheduled to be at Disney World again this year, my wheels began spinning on how to surprise the girls!  I couldn't stand the thought of staying at a Disney resort for the second year in a row and not bring them.  Some how we managed to keep the trip a total surprise.  I flew out Thursday morning, and Charley did a FaceTime call with me as soon as she got out of school on Friday.  I filled a cute Disney bag with all of her favorite coloring books, sticker books and candy.  Amma handed it to her, and I told her she could use it on the plane.  She immediately asked, "when?"  I could barely contain my excitement when I told her she would be leaving right then to go meet Momma on her work trip...and the best part, the work trip was in Disney World!!!!

Billy picked up Amma, Craig, Charley and Carter and took them to the airport.  It didn't actually cross my mind that I needed to put double stroller on "the list," but I guess I should have, because Billy and Craig made a mad dash back to Mount Juliet to get the stroller after dropping Amma and the girls at the airport.  Luckily he made it back in time, and Carter did pretty good on her first flight...by Carter's standards at least...the fact that the plane landed in Orlando and didn't have to be re-routed because she refused to follow TSA protocol means it was a successful trip.

For the first couple of days, the girls hung out with Daddy and Amma at the resort and pool while I finished up my meeting.  Charley LOVED the pirate slide and did it like seven times.  Then we had a three day hopper pass and went to Hollywood Studios, Epcot, Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom.  Charley is our little thrill seeker and loved every ride and roller coaster!

I have a few key musts for our next Disney trip:
1. Go during the week, during the school year, during colder weather...preferably non-holiday time between November and February!
2. Purchase the photo pass and have those photographers take our picture every time we see their camera!
In the middle of Amma having a mini melt down on how she looked "old and terrible" in all of the iphone pictures, I showed her the preview from the My Disney Experience app and she insisted we buy that day right away!  I'm so glad we did...totally worth it...especially after I realized I didn't get a single decent picture in our cute shirts!

Let's talk about my obsession with custom outfits and shirts for the girls.  I planned for weeks and secretly measured them so the outfits would be the perfect fit, especially since I couldn't try them on.  What I didn't plan for was the confusion with the etsy shop, which meant plan B of delivering the outfits to the resort.  And of course I didn't plan for a hurricane to hit the coast, delaying the mail until end of the day on our last day.  At least they got to wear their animal kingdom dresses on the plane going home!
