NYE with Friends

Not much to say...we don’t see these people enough...we had a great time...the kids are so cute...we need to get together more often...New Years Eve with the Goode and Steele families...one of my favorite traditions.

Christmas with Logan and Hay Hay

Typical to Christmas 2014, we finally celebrated with Hay Hay and Logan the week after Christmas at Granny Martha and Granddad Charlie’s house.  I think by this point, the kiddos were over it, too!  Logan loved his new Infinity characters and Charley was obsessed with her Doc McStuffin’s toys, but they both liked the bubble wrap used for Hay Hay’s gift from Amma the most.  Guess we know what to get them next year!  Carter got the CUTEST outfit, and I cannot wait for her to wear it.

For the last time, I vow to do Christmas better next year!

Carter’s 2 Month Photo Session

Carter had her two month check up and shots, and Dr. Mukundan said she was doing great...petite, but great.  She weighed 9 pounds 13 ounces and was 22 1/4 inches long.  She is such a great baby and has even slept through the night a few times.

Christmas with Mamy and Pops

Mamy and Pops came to visit the weekend after Christmas.  We opened gifts from everyone in Atlanta, and they played and played with Charley.  On Saturday they took her to see Night at the Museum and to Chickfila to play some more.  She liked the popcorn and playing at Chickfila, but not so much the movie.

Santa

When we finished Christmas in Kentucky, we loaded our car and Granddad’s truck to come back to Tennessee to see what Santa had brought the girls.  The girls traveled in their Christmas jammies and slept the whole way home.  Charley was so excited to see what all Santa had brought...Carter slept through most of it...and ate when she wasn’t sleeping!  I can’t wait to see how excited Carter is next year when she knows what is going on.

Santa left a note that the drawer to the vanity was broken and that he would mail parts when he got back to the North Pole.  I’m happy to report that he followed through and the drawer is now fixed.  Charley and Carter got the wardrobe and vanity for the playroom.  Charley got Sophia, Doc, Princess Jasmine, Tinkerbell and Mulan dress up dresses and accessories.  She also got an Elsa and Anna doll, beauty case, Palace Pet figurines and Princess dining set.  Carter got a booster seat, baby toys, a blanket, stuffed bear and Minnie Mouse dining set.  Their “boots" were cram packed with all of their favorite things and essentials for the baby.  The winning toy from Santa was the Brave bow and arrow. Charley is a fast learner, and it didn’t take her long to figure out how to load and shoot her bow.  Granddad told her to lick the end and it would stick to things, which cracked her and us up every time that arrow smacked into something and stuck.

To continue tradition, we got the girls their jewelry presents.  Baby Carter got a Pottery Barn jewelry box, just like Big Sister’s.  Charley got semi-dangle earrings from Puckett’s...specifically the ones on her “wish list”...doesn’t every 3 and a half year old have a “wish list” at the jewelry store?  We ended the night with dinner from McDonalds and movie theater popcorn.  We ate candy from our stockings and all watched Maleficient.  A perfect ending to Christmas...home, family, food, movie, togetherness.

Best parents/grandparents in all the land...THE END!

Christmas Day

Christmas this year was so hectic.  I’m not sure if it was because of the new baby or what, but Amma and I were last minute on just about everything.  I don’t know why I had coordinating wrapping paper for my trees when I didn’t get anything wrapped in time to go under the tree.  I’ve vowed to do way better next year.  I’ve never been ready for Christmas to be over, but this year I was over it pretty early! Luckily by Christmas Day, everything was done.  We had Christmas breakfast at Amma and Granddad’s house, and it was so good.  Granddad Mike makes the best biscuits from scratch!  We opened presents with Granny Martha and Granddaddy Charlie and tried to get some family photos afterwards.  Charley was over it, too!  Christmas is so hard on little ones and their emotions....kind of like it is for the Momma’s.  Its a constant roller coaster of excitement, getting ready, going places, hurrying here and there, taking pictures, cooking, baking, eating, playing, wrapping presents, opening presents, waiting on people...it’s exhausting!  Considering the jam packed week of celebrating, the melt downs were pretty minimal.  One of the sweetest things this year was that Charley wrote on every single name tag for our Christmas gifts...it took forever...but worth it to see how excited she was to help!

This little meltdown is when I told her to high chair and cradle were red and not pink.

Carter got a learning toy and money for her Gwen Moss pictures.  Charley got a jogging stroller for her babies, cradle, high chair, rain boots, and rain jacket.  She also got a black eye on Christmas Eve playing a ridiculous game with her cousins.  Oh, and Daddy got a haircut that made me pretty irritated most of Christmas...and today, now that I am seeing the pictures again!  Merry Christmas!

Christmas Eve

Another one of my favorite days of the year is Christmas Eve.  It doesn’t get much better than spending time with my favorite people and eating yummy food.  We had brunch at Granny Martha and Granddad Charlie’s house and dinner at Granny Katherine and Papa’s house.  Carter handled being passed around and all of the loud chatter like a champ, and Charley had a wild time with all of her cousins.
