Uncle Mike's 40th Birthday Party!!!

Uncle Mike turned 40 a few weeks ago, and we all celebrated with a surprise party at Catfish Kitchen!!!  A few days before the party, I wrote him a birthday poem!  I am pretty sure he loved the poem and the party! So glad we were able to be there!
Charley was so excited to be at Catfish Kitchen for Uncle Mike's party!

Happy Big 4-0!

As his 30’s come to an end and with 40 just ahead,
On this special occasion there are some things that need to be said.

Uncle Mike is a man, in which few people can compare,
Starting at the top of his head where there is little to no hair.

Little isn’t the word to describe his belly fat,
Jimmy Jr. in the making…put that on a tat.

He’s got a way with words, just ask the lady from the bank,
He called the big gal a hoss, he obviously didn’t think.

She wanted to ride up in the bucket, but was afraid she was too big,
He assured her she would be fine, after all it’s a two-man rig.

He fell into a pool, that’s how the story was told,
He should start being more careful now that he’s getting to be so old.

If you see his truck on the side of the road and he’s headed toward the ditches,
Don’t stop, keep driving…he’s about to poop his britches.

All jokes aside, it’s time to get real,
And show him what he means to us and how we really feel.

They say you can’t choose your family and that’s exactly what we did,
He’s been my Uncle Mike since I was practically a kid.

To my dad he’s like a brother and for that I’d like to say,
Thank you for that friendship and the special role you play.

He’s one of the most hard working, caring, thoughtful and giving people I know,
I love you, Uncle Mike, Happy Big 4-0!

Love,
Jess

11 Month Photo Shoot

I seriously can't believe that when I do the next photo shoot Charley will be ONE.  No more counting in months...I will be counting years and half years!  I am not sure how I feel about that!  I guess I have thirty days to get used to the idea and enjoy every last second of having a baby in the house.  This month came right after Christmas, so Charley spent a lot of her time playing with all of her new toys!  We had to leave some toys at Gramma and Granddad's house, because we just don't have enough room.  Did I mention that we had to move the coffee table to the garage a few months ago to make room for Charley's play area?  I thought Craig Robinson was going to lose his mind over that, but he's finally getting the picture that the coffee table will not be used in this house again!  We also had our first play date with someone that was in our birthing class at Baptist.  We ran into Gwen and baby Collette at the mall one day, and we decided to get the girls together to play.  They are only one week apart, and they were so cute playing together.  Charley was a little bit of a bulldog, and I was constantly pulling her off of Collette and telling her to "be easy" or "play nice"...sometimes it seems like I am raising a little boy!  But, it was so nice to talk "baby" with someone who is going through all the same things!  We will definitely be having more play dates.  We also stopped doing the sink bath this month and started Charley in the tub full-time.  She LOVES the water and is the cutest little thing splashing and playing and drinking (yep, drinking) the water.  She will play and play and play until she is ready to get out, then she stands up and reaches for you to pick her up!  Ah, so cute!  On a not so pleasant note, Gramma gave Charley the stomach bug at the end of the month, then Daddy got it, then Momma got it, then Granny Martha and Granddad got it!  (Not at all Gramma's fault...that's just where is started.)  It took a little while for her and everyone else to bounce back!  From the looks of this month's photo shoot...I'd say Miss Priss is back to normal...normal being adorably rotten, of course!

Rachel and Harper's Baby Shower

I can't believe that Harper is just a few weeks from making her grand entrance into the world...which means that Charley is almost ONE!  Oh me, this year has flown by!  Courtney and Kelly (the wife of a friend that teaches with Rachel) helped host Rachel's baby shower.  It was at my house and everything turned out super cute, if I do say so myself!
All the yummy food
HARPER door sign that Courtney made...she is so talented!
Miss Priss loved all of the attention!

Now that the showers are over and Harper's room is almost complete...we just have to wait for her arrival...and I CAN'T WAIT TO BE AN AUNT!!!!!!!!!!!

10 Month Photo Shoot

December was such a fun and eventful month for Charley.  I am proud to announce that she started saying "Momma," which melts my heart more than I could have imagined.  This month was also when Charley started eating "real" food.  She definitely takes after her Momma when it comes to her love for cheese!  She does such a good job chewing (gumming) her food.  Feeding her is a little bit of a challenge, because once we started giving her food, she stopped eating baby food....so for now, she eats cheese, ham, cheese, puffs, and more cheese!  Well, it really isn't that bad, but it seems like cheese is the only thing she will eat!  I really hope she doesn't take after me and ends up being a picky eater....I was hoping she could be more like her Daddy, because he eats just about anything :)  One of her favorite things to do this month was play with Buddy...Granddad's beagle puppy.  She gets so excited when Buddy comes around!  (**HINT TO GRANDDAD...a puppy would be a great gift for Charley's birthday, as long as its permanent home is Kentucky!)  Oh, and she got her second tooth the day after Christmas.  Since her first one was the day after Thanksgiving, does this mean we will see the next tooth will be the day after Valentine's Day?  Guess we will have to wait and see!

The Robinson Annual Christmas Party

Somehow I completely forgot to post pictures from our annual Christmas party!  I am going to blame forgetting on my "baby" brain, even though I am not sure how much longer I can use that excuse!

All of the yummy desserts...guess I didn't get a picture of the food!
Santa Cookies...they actually tasted as good as they looked!

Christmas in Kentucky

After opening presents at home and having our Christmas Eve Eve lunch at Chuy's, we packed up two cars and headed to Kentucky.  The 23rd, 24th, and 25th couldn't have been better.  We celebrated the holiday by going to church, eating lots of yummy food, opened way too many presents...and got to have almost a week of family time....which made for a Christmas that was absolutely perfect!

Christmas at Gramma and Granddad's house
First present at Gramma and Granddad's house
(Charley got a super cute Giggle Moon outfit, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse car, Vtech laptop, a Mickey Mouse DVD and LOTS of goodies in her stocking!)
Uncle Justin...I've decided he is thinking one of two things:
"Gosh that is the cutest niece in the whole world?"
or
"What is taking this baby so long...I used to go first!"

I got all of my favorite things for Christmas...Gramma's stocking are the BEST!!!
Granddad opening his present from Me, Craig and Justin.  He got new boots to wear while riding dirt bikes...and he loved them!
Granddad got a little emotional over the present we gave him...think he wasn't expecting such a nice gift!

Mom loved her new Coach wallet that Dad gave her...he always knows exactly what to get her :)

One of my FAVORITE pictures of Christmas!  Kobey obviously didn't like waiting his turn!
But Kobey did like his new Power Rangers mask and watch from us!
Kayce loved her new purse from Mom and Dad!  She is the purse queen!
Laney was so cute "baking" with the her new apron and mixing bowl!
Kobey got me a special gift and I LOVED it...a framed picture of my best buddy!

Christmas Day
Merry Christmas from the Robinson's...and the remote, since Charley wouldn't take the picture without it!
Cutest grandparents ever?  I think so!
Charley loves to destroy things!

Saying it was a "Merry Christmas" is an understatement...BLESSED beyond words!
