Baking with Charley

In December, I had to have a little chat with Craig.  He is such a great daddy and husband, and he almost always does whatever we ask of him.  On this particular afternoon, I didn't want to ask...I wanted him to notice on his own.  The more I thought about it, the more I was embarrassed to even ask, but I felt like I needed to communicate something to him.  It wasn't fair to be upset with an unmet expectation that Craig didn't even know about.  Sure, in a perfect world, I would love if he could read my mind, but that isn't reality.  Charley and I were having the best moment in the kitchen baking together in our matching aprons.  He had walked by and through the kitchen multiple times, and it never occurred to him to snap our picture.  As the Momma, I don't miss a chance to photograph the girls, but that shouldn't mean that I'm always left out of picture.  So instead of fuming over it, I put down my spatula, walked into the living room, and asked if he would come take our picture.  Asking was embarrassing to me, but I wanted to remember our special moment.  He's a fast learner, so I think he got the message.  After seeing the pictures, I am really glad I asked.

Christmas with Billy and Marilyn

We picked Carter up early from preschool on Jammie day and went to Opry Mills with Billy and Marilyn to celebrate Christmas.  We had lunch at Chuy's, rode the carousel, and ate Dippin' Dots.  It was such an extra special day with extra special people.

Billy couldn't believe that we had never been to the Ryman, so back in February he went to buy tickets to the Vince Gill and Amy Grant Christmas show for our gift.  Our Christmas double date with them was the best!  Dinner was yummy, the concert was great, and sitting behind Amy Grant super fans MADE the whole night one to remember!

Carter's Christmas Jammie Day

Carter doesn't like to participate in special days at preschool, so I was shocked when she got ready for Jammie day without hesitation!  She's the cutest, strong-willed three year old I've ever seen!

Charley's Cookie Decorating Party

I wanted to do something extra special for Charley after all her hard work throughout the fall with Annie and cheer.  She missed so many birthday parties and fun events with friends for rehearsals and rarely complained about it.  The only time she got upset was when she had to miss Lifegroup...bless her heart!  I decided to bring the party to her.  She made a big list of friends to invite over for a cookie decorating party.  Almost everyone on her list came, except for a few that couldn't make it last minute.  We had a very full house and super, sweet time!
