Wilson County Fair

We learned a valuable lesson this year...go to the Wilson County Fair at night...NOT DURING THE HEAT OF THE DAY!  That's all!

Carter's 1st Day of Preschool

Carter was so ready to start back to preschool!  She couldn't wait to see her friends and go to Ms. Misty's class!  I am so comforted to know that she is in great hands and surrounded by people that love the Lord!  Mount Juliet Church of Christ Preschool has truly been one of the biggest blessings for our family!

Summer Nanny

I've jokingly referred to Mikayla as our Summer Nanny for so long, that I catch myself calling her that almost all the time!  I hope she doesn't mind!  The girls had another great summer with her, and we were all sad to see her go back to college!  Lucky for us, I think she has one more summer in her, and she's been priming her younger sister to take over when she has to get a career job!

Charley and Carter are super lucky to have Amma and Mikayla when Momma and Daddy have to work...a grandmother that spoils them rotten and a babysitter that plays whatever they want...I'm just so thankful they are loved by the ones that care for them!

Charley's 1st Day of 2nd Grade

The rapid growth in enrollment for Rutland meant that 2nd grade had to be moved to Building A...so Charley started the new year in a new building.  Despite a tad bit of nerves, she handled the change like a pro.  It didn't take long to figure her way around and fall in love with her class and amazing teacher, Ms. Pillow.  (Leaving Building B also meant leaving Ms. Amber, which was probably the real source of her nerves!)  After going to the Open House, I was super excited about the school year...real grades...more responsibility....accountability...ahh...all the things that make my over-achiever heart tick!  Apparently all has gone well for the first few months of school, because we got an email the day of parent teacher conferences basically excusing us because of "no concerns" for Charley!  This girl makes us so proud!!!

Venture River, Putt-Putt, Wedding Shower and Birthday

Our last weekend of summer was cram packed with activities in Kentucky.  We went to Venture River for Grandad Mike's company picnic on Saturday morning, and the girls LOVED it!  Charley wanted to go on every single slide in the park, which made Carter want to ride them all, as well.  Unfortunately, she wasn't tall enough for most things, but she loved one slide and we all took turns to ride with her.  When I was waiting in the line with her she said, "look, Momma, there is a snake."  She tends to exaggerate on lots of things, so I didn't believe her...until I looked down and saw the SNAKE right next to the side walk!  Just my luck that it happened on my turn!  haha. Carter talked about "Amma's pool" for weeks after we went, and I finally figured out that she meant Venture River!  I guess we will be going back next summer.  We played putt-putt on Saturday night (Amma won 1st place), had Justin and Shelley's wedding shower on Sunday after church and celebrated Craig's 32nd birthday at Texas Roadhouse that night.  It was definitely a fun weekend for lots of reasons!
