The Cutest Pumpkin in the Patch Turns ONE

The cutest pumpkin in the patch turned one with the most perfect first birthday party.  All of the special people in Carter's life were invited, and we had a house full celebrating our girl's big day.  We had potato soup, chili, hotdogs and all the toppings for lunch.

The dessert table was the best part of the food.  Granny Katherine made her yummy fried pies.  Amma and Granny Martha made the mini pecan pies, which were a huge hit.  A Robinson party wouldn't be complete without cupcakes from Parcells, and I made caramel apples on a stick, fall mix, s'mores bars and pumpkin shaped sugar cookies.  I also had the bright idea to make Carter's smash cake in the shape of a pumpkin by myself...from scratch.  The icing wasn't perfect, but it actually looked like a pumpkin and Carter LOVED it!  However, I do not have plans to take up cake decorating...at least not in my near future!

Decorating for Carter's Pumpkin Patch was so fun!  I think I bought pumpkins in Florida, North Carolina, Washington and Tennessee...at TJMaxx, of course!  My TJMaxx bill for September wasn't as fun as the shopping, but definitely worth it!

I can't thank our guests enough for making Carter's day so special.  When guest travel from Kentucky and Georgia, I am so appreciative for the girls.  Everyone left with the tastiest Caramel Sea Salt Popcorn, and the kiddos took home mini pumpkins and paint.  I'm sure they were all painted beautifully!

Carter didn't love all of the people, but she didn't hold back at cake time.  We sang "Happy Birthday" and she dug right into her smash cake.  She was adorable!!!  She clapped, ate, played and finally stood up in the high chair showing off her little pumpkin booty.  The high chair was mine from when I was a little girl and the one Charley used at her first birthday...I love sharing such special things with my girls.

Opening presents was so fun for Craig and I.  Carter pretty much played with one toy, which was the remote from Diana and Kari, and that is all.  She got so many sweet gifts including a Flit and Flitter outfit and shoes from Amma and Granddad, boots from Uncle Justin, Plaid Rabbit gift certificate from Diana and Kari, a cute book and princesses from the Artley's, her first baby doll from the Springer's, a fun toy from LuLu, a Giggle Moon outfit and toy from the Yates' crew, and tons of other super cute things that I just can't remember them all....or find the paper that I used to write Thank You notes.

Since the Easter morning when we told Charley she was going to be a big sister, we couldn't wait to welcome our little pumpkin into the world.  Life this past year with Carter has been such a joy.  She is such a delight to be around, and I just cannot wait to see what the world has in store for this precious child.  Happy 1st Birthday Baby Girl...you are loved more than words could ever express.
