Showstoppers Silver Masterclass - Lion King, Jr.

Charley took a month long masterclass at the Capitol Theatre in February, and the final performance was incredible!  It got me so excited to see Lion King, Jr. this summer.  Charley nailed her solo "She's In Love" from The Little Mermaid, and all the "congratulations" and "good jobs" after the show were exactly what her confidence needed.  She has grown and improved so much over the last few months thanks to lots of practice, encouragement and help from Mrs. Valerie and Miss Brett, and a little tough love from "the Hammer" aka Amma!

Invention Convention

Charley has tested for the SEEK program at school every single year, but she didn't get in until this year.  Her test scores were always high enough for additional testing, but she never did well on the SEEK entrance exam.  Getting into SEEK has been a goal of hers and her teachers since 3rd grade.  It was all about timing for her, because she actually scored high enough in two of the three categories at the end of 4th grade.  She has loved every minute of being in Mrs. Miller's class this year.

They have spent the majority of their time working on projects to enter in the Invention Convention.  Charley partnered with two of our neighbors, Stella and Harrison, and they turned out to be quite the trio! They created a game called Word Witches to help teach young kids their sight words.  It was inspired by Carter, and it was so cute.  They did a fantastic job, and even won an award at MTSU for Best Presentation!
