Grandaddy Charlie's 4th of July Picnic

Grandaddy Charlie had one of his largest crowds at his 4th of July picnic despite the heavy rain that fell before, during and after lunch.  Over 50 people enjoyed fish, all the fixin's and a huge table of desserts.  Charley had so much fun with cousins, even though the weather was not to her standards.  Carter thought it was the greatest day ever.  She played in the rain, splashed in puddles, ate whatever she wanted and drank every thing she could get her hands on.  We got home in time to watch some fireworks out of the upstairs window.  Charley was yelling, "Woo!!!" and Carter kept saying, "Boom...Boom!"

Papa and Granny Katherine's 65th Wedding Annivesary

In a little over one year, we have celebrated both of my grandparent's 65th wedding anniversaries.  I realize what a rare blessing that is, and it is such an honor to celebrate the legacies of marriage in our family.  We hosted a reception for Granny Katherine and Papa at the Olive Methodist Church and well over 100 people came to congratulate the couple.  Charley got sick the night before we were supposed to leave for Kentucky, and she had to stay home with Craig.  She was beyond disappointed to miss out.  Other than missing her, the afternoon was perfect filled with family, friends and yummy desserts.
