Happy Easter

As Granny Martha put it, "this is Charley's first Easter!"  This was actually her second Easter, but it was the first Easter that she could enjoy.  She looked super cute in her Easter dress and matching shoes.  I bought and took back three pairs of shoes trying to find the perfect addition to her dress, and I finally settled on an "okay" choice.  On our way to Kentucky, Mom found perfect, matching sandals that were super cheap at Babies R Us...of all places.  (So cheap that they tore up after church, but at least we have cute pictures!)  We had a full day of fun going to church, lunch at Granny Martha and Granddaddy Charlie's house, playing and opening her Easter baskets at Gramma and Granddad's house, and finally dinner and an Easter Egg Hunt at Granny Katherine and Papa's house with all of Charley's cousins....and somehow I managed to get pictures of all of it!

Happy 80th Birthday, Granddaddy Charlie

April is definitely a month of celebrating in our family!  Granddaddy Charlie, Granny Martha and Granddad (Dad) all celebrate their big days this month...this particular year was extra special since Granddaddy Charlie and Granny Martha turned 80!  We decided a few months back to throw a surprise party for Granddad at Habanero!  It was so special to see how excited Granddad was to celebrate with all of his friends and family.  In addition to the perfect celebration, Rachel painted Granddad's "Old Home Place" as the perfect present from us.  She did a great job, and saying he loved it is an understatement!  I'm so thankful that Charley has such amazing great-grandparents, and that she is able to spend so much time with them!  Not sure who loves it more....them or her!?!?

Harper June Goode...Charley's BFF!

Exactly one year, one week, and one day after Charley was born, Harper June Goode (Charley's best friend) entered the world.  Harper was stubborn, just like Charley, and was finally delivered by a c-section almost a week after her due date!  The girls must be conspiring against the momma's already!  I was so happy to meet Harper on her birth day, and she was absolutely precious!!!!  I bought super cute, matching outfits for the day Charley and Harper met in the hospital, but Miss Priss wasn't in a very good mood that day, so we waited to wear the outfits on our first visit to their house.  I can't even begin to imagine how much fun we are all going to have together!

Charley's 1st Birthday Party

After months of planning, it was finally time for Charley's 1st Birthday Party!  As Gramma put it, I was completely "consumed" with making her birthday the best first birthday ever!  I am more than happy with how it turned out, am so thankful for all of the people that came to celebrate Charley's first year!  Over 50 people came to the party at the James Gang Company...which was the perfect place for this special occasion!  For the "GRUB" table we served Four Little Pig's BBQ sandwiches, Granny Katherine's pimento cheese sandwiches, baked beans, Catfish Kitchen slaw, Granny Martha's pickles and chips.  The "Sweets and Treats" table had birthday cake, s'more cake pops, Granny Katherine's fried pies, Little Debbie snack cakes, Charley's cowgirl cookies, popcorn, baby snacks, and banana pudding.  We also enjoyed homemade strawberry lemonade in mason jars with pink, striped straws.  After everyone was completely stuffed with lunch and dessert, Miss Priss blew out her candle, ate her smash cake, and opened all of her presents...looking absolutely adorable the whole time!  She got tons of amazing birthday gifts including a Juicy swimsuit and coverup from Craig and I, a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse ball pit from Gramma and Granddad, an adorable outfit from Uncle Mike and Tammy, super cute dress from Uncle Justin, a beach towel and bag from the Hendrickson's for our Florida trip, a Minnie Mouse beach towel and stuffed Minnie from Aunt Rachel and Uncle Gar, a bouncy cow from Aunt Court and Uncle B, silver sparkle Toms and precious outfit from the Underhill's, Converse tennis shoes from the Bradley Bunch and Aunt Ann, zoo membership from Aunt Lulu, a toy and Nike's from the Yates' crew, lots of toys, books and money for her piggy bank...I should've written everything down...but this is the best I can remember!  So many things to be thankful for!
