Sound of Music Audition

This girl is living proof of when you set your mind to something, you can achieve it with hard work, dedication and determination.  Charley really wanted a role in the Sound of Music, the December play by Audience of One, and she worked very hard to prepare for her audition.  Typically when she preps for plays, we spend a lot of time reminding her to practice...but not this time!  She spent days practicing and perfecting her song and monologue, and we were so proud when she got her very first call back for a role...Gretl von Trapp.  That was a total win in my book, but she continued to perfect her audition by constantly singing the call back songs and even asked to watch the movie one last time to really get to know her character.

Call backs were very overwhelming.  There was SO much talent in the theatre, and I left thinking how thankful I was to not be the Director.  We went straight home to get Daddy and Carter, and celebrated her hard work with a yummy treat from The Baked Bear.  Her week got even sweeter a few nights later when Miss Brett and Miss Angie called to offer her one of the roles for Gretl von Trapp.  They double casted the show, and Charley is in cast Sixteen, as in "Sixteen Going on Seventeen" and will perform in four shows in December.  We are beyond proud and so excited to see this show!
