Oh Tater Day festivities
what can I say
people come from near and far
just to spend the day
Out of the wood work
you will see all kinds
some you will think
have quite possibly lost their minds
But tradition is important
and definitely a must
so Charley went with Amma and Granddad
to check out all the fuss
Lots to do and see
it can be such a racket
and on the first Monday of April
you will probably need a jacket
They took an extra day
to soak up all the fun
doing and seeing it all
couldn't be done in just one
Rides, jumps, swings
and horses to boot
Charley with cousins and friends

This year was extra special
and a parade for the books
Charley and Dathan rode in back of red rocket
getting lots of waves and looks
Their picture made the local paper
celebrities you might say
of small town Benton Kentucky's
one and only Tater Day
