Charley's Broken Arm 😢
We thought Carter would take us to the ER first, but a little gymnastics mishap put us there with Charley. She learned how to do her back walkover at cheer (like really learned how...she rang the bell, did it several times and her cheer coach changed the routine to include it for their last competition); however, when she showed Miss Taylor at dance, she must have been too aware of everyone watching her and landed just the wrong way and her little arm broke.
To add to the ordeal, I wasn't there. Amma called and told me she had broken it, but I was stuck at home with Amma's car and no keys. Someone was on their way to get me, and in the meantime, Mr. Clay (Abby's Dad and paramedic) was putting on a splint. I couldn't get Craig on the phone, but I did get through to Dr. Mukundan's office and made arrangements for them to stay open until we could get to Green Hills. Thankfully I grabbed Charley's heaviest coat on my way out the door, because it was one of the coldest days of the year and all she had on was her dance outfit.
All of the dance moms and friends were amazing and so worried about Charley. They helped us carefully get Charley and our stuff into the car. Traffic was pretty rough, but we made it to Green Hills right at 5:00. It took all of about 5 seconds for Dr. Mukundan to confirm the diagnosis of a broken arm. Leave it to Charley to have what Dr. Mukundan said was "the fanciest splint he had ever seen!" He called ahead to Vanderbilt and sent us on our way.
The whole ER experience was super slow...they treated us great...but everything took forever! I was terrified that I would get the flu, but thankfully that didn't happen. Dr. Mukundan's call did help speed up the process, but we still spent about 6 hours getting our girl back in line...literally. One of the first things they gave her was liquid Lortab, which had an instant effect. She told the doctor it tasted like "poop....and pee....mixed with a liiittttllleeee bit of cherry....AND opossum!" She was hilarious after the medicine and even danced around in her bed a little. The doctor was cracking up and came by her room several times for a laugh.

An x-ray confirmed that both bones were broken and the decision was made for Ortho to sedate her to set the fracture before casting it. It took a long time for all the departments to work together, but every thing ended up great. Craig and I were super calm during the whole experience, until they sedated her. That was kind of freaky and it made us both emotional. By that point it was pretty late and they made us leave the room while they set the bones...which was the perfect time to hit up the vending machine since we hadn't eaten and wouldn't eat in front of Charley. Once we were allowed back in, she had to eat a Popsicle and not get sick before we were released. Thankfully it was a Charley approved food item, and were were out of there and home around midnight!
On Friday she thought she wanted to go to Chuy's since she was home from school. She got tired pretty fast, but coming home to an afternoon of guests and deliveries made our girl feel much better. I still can't get over how sweet everyone was to Charley. Aunt Cindy had sent balloons and an adorable stuffed animal that surprisingly resembled an opossum...it was actually a hedgehog...but it was so cute and the best surprise from Kayce, Kobey and Laney. Miss Marilyn came by with Valentine's treats and Legos. Miss Taylor sent balloons and a sweet bear from everyone at Diamond Dance Academy. Heath, Kelly, Emmy and Nolan brought all kinds of goodies, and Emmy came prepared to sign Charley's cast! Christy and Shelley brought Kinsley and Presley with some sweet surprises, and the girls all played upstairs for a little while!
I'm so thankful for all the sweet calls, texts, cards and gifts that Charley received to make her feel better! I think Kentucky was feeling her pain on Thursday afternoon, because Granddad Mike, Granny Martha and Laney were brought to tears when they first heard about the arm. She is so blessed to be surrounded by so much love!

Charley's Last Cheer Performance for the 2016-2017 Season
We didn't know it at the time, but the cheer competition on the first weekend of February was Charley's last performance with the Grinches for this competition season. She went out with a bang and her team won first place!!! I'm so proud of her dedication and hard work!

Charley's Lost Her First Tooth
Charley wiggled and touched and played with and jiggled her first loose tooth until I was almost crazy. I never used to be a germaphobe, but now that I have kids I think of all the places her hands have been. I was so happy when we finally decided the tooth was ready to come out. I felt like the whole pulling process could have gone on for days, so we did a farewell baby tooth video and decided we would take care of business after dance class. As my luck would have it, Miss Melissa (Miss Teresa's daughter) was at dance and she works at a dentist office and agreed to pull Charley's tooth. After class, Charley was surrounded by a cute little audience and in no time at all, her tooth was pulled and in a paper towel in my pocket. No tears and no drama...easy peasy!
Charley put her tooth in her cute little pillow for the tooth fairy, but unfortunately the tooth fairy didn't come on the first night that Charley lost her tooth. So Charley wrote her a note to let her know she lost it and that it was under her pillow. The note worked, because she woke up to a $20 bill the next morning....I would imagine the tooth fairy felt guilty for not making it by the night before and left big bucks to make up for it!

Carter's Jammie Day
Jammie day is pretty much every day for Carter, so she was super thrilled for that day at preschool. In true Robinson fashion, she accessorized with a giant bow and necklace!
Lunch with Grandaddy Charlie
Carter and I met Amma and Grandaddy Charlie for lunch in Clarksville back in the winter, and I'm obsessed with this precious picture of the Carter and her great-grandad!
Carter's 1st Build-A-Bear
Near the end of Christmas break, I took the girls to Cool Springs to spend a little of their Christmas money before it burned a hole in their pockets...specifically Charley's pocket! Charley got a new outfit for Lucy at American Girl that was "perfect for winter," and we took Carter to Build-A-Bear for the first time! Talk about cute...expensive, but cute! Charley helped Carter through the entire process, and we left with two very happy girls!
