I simply cannot believe we just celebrated our sweet girl’s
2nd birthday. I feel
like it was yesterday when we were at the James Gang celebrating her turning
one. I am so thankful that I have
lots of pictures and her blog book to remember special details from this past
year. Even though I might have
promised to scale things down for her second birthday…I didn’t really keep my
word. Thankfully for me, Charley’s
Daddy is super understanding and lets me run the show in the party
department. We decided to have her
2nd birthday at home, which was extra challenging since we just
moved in a few months ago, but somehow managed to get everything together…even
if we were working up until the last possible minute!
Charley’s Oh “TWO”ddles Birthday Party was so much fun to
plan and host. Charley was really
into the décor and loved spotting Mickey all over the house. We literally had a house full of
guests, which is something I love!
I can’t say enough “thank you’s” to all of my amazing friends that put
up with my crazy ideas and help me when I am in party mode! And of course an extra special thanks
to Amma (Charley shortened her name and it seems to stick) for everything! I am so lucky to have such an
incredible support system, and Charley is beyond blessed to spend so much time
with her!
For the party we served a very Mickey Mouse menu: Clubhouse
sandwiches, Donald Duck’s Boo Boo Chicken Nuggets, Hot Diggity Dogs, Pete’s Party
Pinwheels, Chip and Dale Dip, Minnie Fruit Kabobs and Daisy Dip. For dessert we had Parcel’s cupcakes in
four delicious flavors, peanut butter Rice Krispie’s shaped like Mickey, Mickey
Oreo cookies, M&M’s, gummy bears and suckers.
For the few weeks leading up to Charley’s party, any time you asked her what she was having at her birthday party she would say, “Balloons! Cupcakes! Candy!” This Momma couldn’t disappoint! We even practicing singing “Happy Birthday” and when to blow out the candles, but Charley was extremely shy when it was show time. She did blow out her candles (one pink and one blue that she picked all by herself) and requested that Granddad help her eat her cupcake!
Charley got LOTS of fun birthday presents. I am an extremely organized person, and
presents didn’t get opened quite like I would have hoped…it was CHAOS!!!! Don’t ask me who gave her what, because
I honestly don’t remember. Her
Daddy and I gave her an iPad mini…don’t judge, she loves it and can learn so
much! Some of her favorites so far
are her suitcase from Amma and Granddad, Prempess dress from Sam, Rachel and
Josh, precious sandals from Uncle Justin, necklace from Tuck, B and Baby
Finley, Minnie Bingo from Ray Ray, Gar and Baby Harper, Mickey mat and cars
from Aunt Marsha, and Big Wheel from Wes and Judy. She got lots of outside toys like a bicycle from Mamy and Pops,
bubbles, sidewalk chalk and more bubbles!
Some of Momma’s favorites include a precious Giggle Moon outfit from
Amma, a super cute Flit and Flitter outfit from Diane and Kari, a Plaid Rabbit
gift certificate from Jason, Tracey and the twins, an adorable towel set from
Uncle Jon and Aunt Susie and her sweet parents, and all of the sweet cards and
money for her bank account! She
got lots more, but the specifics are pretty blurry….oh, and I must give a big thanks
to the person who bought her stickers!
She loved them, but her Daddy is about to have a cow every time he finds
one stuck to something in the house!
Charley’s 2nd Birthday couldn’t have gone any
better! We had perfect weather,
quality time with everyone we love, and Charley was extremely well behaved and
the perfect little guest of honor.
She mingled with everyone and played so well!
Momma and Dadda couldn’t be more proud!!! Happy 2nd Birthday Princess…we love you more with each
passing day!
