Day 4 - Snow, Fog and a Yucky Bathroom

Day 4 in Yosemite turned out to be a total bust.  We got up, enjoyed a gourmet meal at Burger King, and started the drive to King's Canyon to access Yosemite from the south entrance.  The cars covered in snow should have been our clue to turn around, but we kept going up the mountain.  We went until we were stopped and told we needed snow chains in the van to even continue on the road.  So we did what anyone with zero mountain/snow driving experience would do, and we turned around and drove straight to Auto Zone to be fitted for snow chains.

Somewhere along the way, we changed our minds and decided to go with the safe choice to drive back into Yosemite Valley, because "surely it would be beautiful in the snow!"  Well...the combination of clouds and fog at that elevation left us with absolutely no visibility.  Literally....none! I'm SO glad we went the day before, because had you told me to look out my window to see El Cap as we passed it, I wouldn't have believed it was there...we couldn't see anything.  The best part about our day trip to the Valley was the quote from Carter after we stopped at the most disgusting bathroom!  She said, "That smelled so nasty, it's making my nose sick!"

We ended the day with a little shopping in Mariposa, followed by a fun night of hot tub, cards, ice cream, cookies and laundry.
