Yikes...Apparently I didn't take many pictures during the fall softball season, and I didn't take a single picture of Coach Craig and Carter! I wheeled into the park after most games started and left before they were over, and I never even had a chance to meet all the parents or get to know all the girls. We did discover that Carter had trouble reading pitching signs when she was playing catcher. I wasn't convinced at first and told Craig he needed more creative signals than flashing different numbers on the side of his leg...I even provided a few suggestions...he didn't like any of them! After going to the eye doctor, I felt awful! Our sweet girl really was having trouble with her vision, and on the two games after getting contacts, she hit the ball all seven times she got up to bat!
On the last game, one of the parents (that I didn't know) made a point to talk to me about Carter. He said, "You have a great kid! She so sweet and kind, she has a great attitude, she encourages others, and she knows everyone at the ballpark!" His kind words meant much more than the team record or her personal stats!
