Carter's 10th Birthday - Dollywood and a Sleepover

For her 10th birthday, Carter requested a trip to Dollywood with a few friends.  Logistically, it was a little tricky to plan.  What friends should she take?  Will their parents be ok with it?  How can we go before Craig's Colorado trip?  What about the weather?  The weather did not work out in our favor, and it ended up being the first cold day of fall...and by cold, I mean freezing cold.  We needed winter gear and we just had sweatshirts.  We froze all day, but made the most of it.  Emery, Carter and I rode every single roller coaster, and we finished the day on the Tennessee Tornado.  The freezing rain pelting our faces on that last roller coaster was the final straw for all of us, but it was certainly was a hilarious and memorable ending to our day!

Hadley and Eliza weren't fans of roller coasters, but all four girls had the best time overall!  Dollywood was the destination, but they had just as much fun being on a road trip and hanging out in our hotel.

On the weekend before Carter's birthday, we invited a few of her school friends over for a causal (nothing fancy - my husband is traveling for ten days) birthday sleepover.  They jumped on the trampoline, painted portraits of each other, watched movies, ate all the candy and laughed their faces off!
