After going to meet the teacher nights at the girls' schools, they were both so excited to start the new school year. Carter was so ready for Building A at Rutland, and loved meeting her teacher Miss Holness and seeing if she had any friends in her class. Charley loved touring GMS, but we spent most of the time decorating her locker and didn't actually get to meet all of her teachers...which is right in line with her personality! We spent a lot of time making locker preparations, and everything turned out exactly like Charley had hoped.
The morning of the first day of school was so chaotic. Thankfully we had everything ready the night before, but it was still a challenge. We had three different drop offs, and of course we wanted to walk each of the girls in...or as far as we could (middle school). We all walked Carter in, and I forgot to take her picture in front of the building, because I saw Bob Barker and his camera and got flustered...we did make his video, by the way!
Carter had the best day and was almost all smiles when she got off the bus. She said, "school was great, but THIS (raising her arm and pointing)...armpit sweat...I've never had it...I hate it!" hahaha
Charley had to wear her uniform to "cheer on" the students as they entered the building on the first day, so she asked to take a second, first day of school picture in an outfit. Her first day response was "I expected my first day of middle school to be all sunshine and rainbows, but it was clouds and a little bit of lightening!" Poor thing...I think her day was actually ok, just stressful with extra bags and clothes and learning her way around a new school.
