Last Day of Kindergarten and 4th Grade

I'm proud to say we survived the most challenging school year EVER!  Delayed start, online classes, hybrid schedule, face masks, Google Meets, and virtual end of year programs are words that I hope I never have to hear again!  We managed, but we are over it...all of it!!!  Despite the challenges, Carter really made progress in Mrs. Burgener's kindergarten class.  Her pencil holding skills look less like how a criminal holds a knife, and she seems a little more interested in learning.  She is not really into sight words, but we are working on it.

Charley thrived in 4th grade even with all of the craziness from COVID.  Her grades were excellent, and she finally made it into the SEEK program for next year.  Mrs. Miller was so proud of how well she did on the entrance test.  She loved being in Mrs. Ogle's and Miss Pettross' classes, and it is no surprise that she was voted most likely to be a movie star by her classmates.  She is so sad to only have one more year left at Rutland, and she has already asked her bus driver if she would switch to a middle school route after next year!  haha!

I was shocked that the girls were sobbing when they got off the bus, but I'm thankful to know that they love their school, classmates and teachers as much as they do.
