She opened the rest of her presents before we went to dinner with the Artley's. At the top of her birthday wishlist was the American Girl doll, Julie...until she read an article in The Tennesseean about a new doll from Tennessee named Tenney. She tried to change her list to two dolls, but we explained to her that she had to pick one and she could save her money for the other. I am so proud of her, because she decided Tenney would be great to ask for since she was the newest AG doll and she could use all her birthday money to buy Julie. Amma and Granddad gave her Tenney, and she was so excited!!! Sister gave her Tenney's hat and guitar. Daddy and I gave her a gymnastics mat to practice at home, and it was so hard for her to not use it with the broken arm. Apparently Daddy doesn't know what Pandora earrings, a gymnastics mat and AG accessories cost, because he got her his own card and put $100 in because "she had really been wanting a $100 bill!" (He's such a sucker for his girls...in a very cute and adorable way!)
Her birthday dinner at Chuy's with the Artley's was the perfect ending to her actual birthday...complete with a cookie cake from the mall!
Charley and Laney had a special birthday lunch at Granny Martha and Granddaddy Charlie's house. We asked them if they wanted to go out to celebrate, but they insisted on staying in to spend more time playing together! I love how cute our little 6 and 7 year old cousins look in their birthday shirts that Emily's mom made for them....I just don't love how fast they are growing!
