February 14th was taken to a whole new level this
year…school, for starters! Since
Charley’s birthday is around the corner, I thought Valentine’s would be the
perfect chance to practice with the princess Cricut cartridge…haha! I think I just end up making things
more complicated for myself, but Miss Priss had cute, handmade Princess
Valentine’s for all of her friends.
She was very specific on which princess to give to each friend.
On Valentine’s Day afternoon, we stopped by Kroger to get a
special treat for a lady from church that we signed up to send mail and visit
at the rest home. We took
her one of Charley’s princess Valentine’s and a box of chocolates. This was our first visit, but I am not
sure who enjoyed it more…us or her!
We had such a nice visit getting to know each other, and Charley put on
a show! She sang and twirled and
kept saying “Happy Valentine’s Day!” to all of the other ladies we saw. When the lady asked Charley to
repeat her name she said, “It’s Princess!” I told the lady that it was Charley, and she is named after
her Granddaddy Charlie and that they are big BUDS. Charley giggled and announced very clearly, “Momma and Amma
have big BUTTS!” I wanted to
DIE!!!! The lady laughed and
laughed and laughed!
Craig and I had the bright idea to take her on our Valentine’s date to J. Alexanders. She wasn’t terrible, but this picture sums it up! She was in a “mood” to say the least! Needless to say, she was asleep before we got home, so we gave her Valentine's present the next morning! She got a heart balloon (per her request), two Disney gowns, Enchanted (her current favorite movie to watch and re-watch), princess sunglasses and a princess flashlight!
She got a Snow White and a Rapunzel from Amma and Granddad, a card with money from Granny Martha and Granddad Charlie, and lots of cards in the mail....she’s definitely a loved little Valentine!
