Rutland's Got Talent

Rutland’s Got Talent couldn’t have had a more appropriate title...oh my word, the talent show was incredible!  The acts included singing, dancing, karate, piano, ukelele, banjo, and gymnastics, and each performance was so impressive!

Charley and Bella opened the show with “How Far I’ll Go,” and I’m SO proud of them!  They did a preview show the day before at school for grades 1-5 (900 students), and Miss Pillow sent me a video with a caption saying she cried like a baby when Charley performed!  Well, now I know why....I cried through her performance, too!!

Carter's Last Day of School and End of Year Program

Carter grew so much this year.  Miss Misty and Miss Lela were wonderful teachers, and they loved Carter as much as she loved them.  She only got in trouble one time the whole year, and I don't even remember what for....so it couldn't have been that bad!  She still doesn't show much interest in coloring or drawing or really using writing utensils of any kind, but she is full of common sense and very independent!  She made precious friends and has spent the first part of the summer talking about when her "team" can come over to play!

I can't believe we wrapped up year 6 at the Mount Juliet Church of Christ Preschool...I teared up thinking about how next year will be my last to take a little to Tuesday/Thursday School.  I'm sure I will cry like a baby on the first day, the last day, and probably all of the special days in between!

Mother's Day

For the sake of not having to pack a bag, we decided to just take a day trip to Kentucky to celebrate Mother's Day and Granny Martha and Grandaddy Charlie's 69th wedding anniversary.  It was so cold, but that didn't stop us from eating ice cream cones after our lunch at Belew's.  For dinner we had a bonfire in dad's field...not gonna lie, I wasn't excited about a bonfire in the field...thankfully, someone brought a badminton court and I had a blast.  Melanie and I were too busy dominating Craig and Jordan on the court to even take pictures!  I spent the ride back to Mount Juliet googling badminton sets on Amazon!  Such a fun day!

Charley's Field Day

Field Day Quote by Charley Robinson, "Ugh...why do I have to be on the green team?  Green is not my color.  Don't they know that blue is my color?  I mean, my eyes really pop when I wear the color blue!"
