Carter's 6 Month Photo Session

Six months have already flown by and our sweet Baby Carter is halfway through her first year.  Unbelievable!  She spent the past month trying out new foods.  She loves peaches, but cannot stand sweet peas...we've tried them 3 times now.  Carter has gotten so good at picking things up and holding them.  She puts everything in her mouth, so we are all wondering when that first tooth is going to pop through.  For the weeks before and after her half birthday, Carter was so fussy that we thought it was a tooth for sure.  After lots of sleepless nights, dozens of diapers, tylenol, ibuprofen, suppositories, sky high fevers, and multiple doctor visits without a clear explanation...she started acting like herself again....and no tooth.  It was the weirdest thing...so it's kind of difficult to say how eating and sleeping have been since she was so out of whack!  She is learning to sit up by herself and managed to cooperate for a couple of pictures.  She weighed 14 pounds 8 ounces (20%) and was 26 1/4 inches long (65%)...she is still pretty teeny, but now a little more long and lean...obviously not taking after her Momma!

Charley’s 1st Sleepover

Granny Martha has asked Charley to spend the night for a really long time.  Charley always responded the same way with, “I can’t do that until I am 4!”  Well, not too long after turning 4, Emily text that Kobey and Laney wanted Charley to spend the night.  She didn’t hesitate…since she was 4 and all…and couldn’t wait to pack her suitcase!  They had a blast together!  Playing dress up, sleeping on a pallet and going to the park are just a few of the fun things they did on their cousin’s only sleepover.  The pictures Emily sent were the cutest!!!

Happy Easter

Easter consisted of some of my very favorite things...church in Kentucky, matching dresses for the girls, filling Easter baskets, and amazing meals with family.

Egg Weekend

Life has been so busy lately.  I thought I knew what busy was with one kiddo...but life seems much busier with two.  I really can't stand when I hear people constantly complain about how busy they are, but lately I started wondering "am I one of those people?"  I truly hope not...everyone is busy...busy can mean something different from one person to the next...pretty sure it's just life.  However, Craig and I had a long talk on how we don't want "busy" to become an excuse that keeps us from doing special little things for our girls.  Hence, the Egg Weekend.  As always, my to-do list filled an entire page, multiple sections and columns with very few items accomplished, but we set aside time to do things that Charley would love.  We made the test batch of the Egg Sugar Cookies, we did an Egg Craft and we dyed Easter Eggs...was it an Egg-cellent time?  Most definitely!

Charley's School Easter Party

When I took Charley to meet Miss Emily back in August, I asked her which event she wanted Mommy to help with at school during the year.  She didn't hesitate when she said she wanted me to be at her Easter party.  Two other class moms and I coordinated details, and I did the treat and they did the craft.  I spent way too much time trying to make my FROM SCRATCH rolled, cut, baked, iced and decorated Easter egg cookies.

BIG. WASTE. OF. TIME....half the kids opted out of the cookie, the other's only nibbled, and some ended up on the ground.  Charley and Craig loved them, but they loved the test batch...so I could have totally saved my two late nights and just bought cookies at Publix!  Of course that is highly unlikely, but I could have done that!  In the kids defense, the cookie came right after their picnic lunch and right before the egg hunt...the egg hunt was definitely the priority!  The kids were so cute looking for eggs.

Carter's 5 Month Photo Session

It’s April 22…6 days shy of Carter’s 6 month photo session….and I cannot remember the significant events between months 4 and 5.  I am pathetic!  I can say that Carter is such a chill baby.  Besides spitting up constantly, she is so laid back.  She does love attention, but who doesn’t?

Oh…it’s coming back to me…we started baby food!!!  We did cereal for a week, and just like Sister, Carter prefers oatmeal to rice cereal…but only after we started adding bananas or apples.  After a few weeks of the whole mix-the-cereal-flakes-with-the-formula-and-fruit, we switched to the good stuff…Gerber’s pre-mixed Apple and Banana Oatmeal.  Thank you Gerber!  We pretty much failed at the recommendation from the doc on the routine of 2-3 veggies then 1 fruit.  Hello…all she wanted to do was spit while learning to use the spoon!  The only cure to the spitting was fruit.  Our ratio is 2-3 fruits to 1 veggie…every one is happy…besides maybe the doctor…but I don’t plan on telling him!

Matching sister's makes me ridiculously happy...I'm somewhat obsessed...it's like playing dress up with the cutest dolls, EVER!
