24 Months – 2 Years Old

Weight: 28 pounds (80%)
Height: 34 inches (50%)
Teeth: 16 (all but the 2 year molars)
Words: Her vocabulary has exploded these past few months…she says just about everything.  She’s even using sentences.  Some of my favorite words include: caterpillar, Kentucky, pepperoni, God, and I love you.
Clothing Size: 24 months – 2 T
Favorite Foods: bagels, strawberries, chips, sweetarts, and M&M’s (this one is tough for me because she’s teething and not eating anything this week, and of course I can’t remember anything she ate the last three months!)
Drinks: whole milk, watered down juice, water…but we just switched to skim milk
Sleeping: She goes to bed around 8:00 and is always up by 7:00…sometimes before, sometimes after.  She did sleep until 9:00 a few weeks ago after playing at Ray Ray and Gar’s house with Baby Harper, which was a first.  She has been taking couch naps in the late afternoon, which usually last 1-2 hours.  Its great because she sleeps, but it’s not easy to get up and do anything.
Favorite TV shows: Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, “Prempess” (Sophia the First) and “Doc” (Doc McStuffin’s or McMuffin’s if you ask Amma)…she loves to watch Disney on our phones and asks for it all the time!
Tricks: She is so smart.  She can identify almost all letters of the alphabet, and she knows lots of shapes (square, rectangle, heart, circle, triangle, diamond and star).
Favorite Person: Amma
Favorite Restaurants: Chuy’s
Buddies: Baby Finely, Baby Harper, Keyton, Sam, Parker, Lily, Hadlee, Hunter, Chelsey, Emmy, Cade, Collette, Kobey, Laney, Daws and Dathan
Favorite Animal: all animals…we look at them in books, name their sounds, and look for them outside.
Favorite Toys: purses, dress up clothes, accessories, Mickey toys, Prempess Sophia figures, and books…I hear, “Read the book!” about a 100 times a day!

Funny Story: Charley was playing with Uncle Justin and told him she pooped.  He said he would change her the next time she pooped.  Well, as luck would have it, she was with him the next day and she did the same thing.  She said, “I pooped, Justin.”  So Uncle Justin was true to his word and not only changed his first diaper, but it was a poopy one, too.

Happy Valentine’s Day

If Valentine’s Day was a preview of the dreaded “terrible two’s,” then Craig and I are in for it!  I had planned on getting my oil changed, having lunch and running errands with just Momma and Charley...we did manage to accomplish all of those things, but not without multiple fits and fights along the way.  Apparently we started the day off on the wrong foot, literally, when I wouldn’t let her wear dress up heels!  It went up and down hill from there!  I can only imagine with a daughter this won’t be our only dramatic Valentines Day, and that one day I will be wishing for dress up high heel fights.  At the end of the day, Charley did enjoy looking at all of her Valentine cards and playing with her presents.

Circus with the Twins

A few months ago I got a call from Jason saying he got us all tickets to the circus.  I was so excited for our first outing with Charley and the twins.  We had the best day together from meeting at the downtown Chuy’s for lunch, spending the afternoon at the circus, and pizza and play time at our house before they had to go back to Benton.  Tracey was so on top of her game and came super prepared!  She even had a cute circus bag for Charley with circus animal toys and animal crackers, which she loved!  I would say the only thing that could have made the day better would have been a group picture with all of us...maybe next time!

Despite these last three pictures, the kids LOVED the circus and watched the whole thing (except for the parts Charley and Lily slept through!)

30 Before 30

I actually started this blog so I could have all of the entries turned into a book for Charley...her First Year book turned out way better than I could have expected, which made me even more motivated to keep it up...which explains why the majority of the content revolves around her!  With that being said, I feel like its important for me to do a “Momma-post” for two reasons: 1. I need a little accountability, because I finalized my list over a month ago and haven’t really made any progress. 2. I think one day Charley might enjoy or get a laugh out of her Momma.  Either way, here is my 30 Before 30 (in no particular order)...let the countdown begin!!!!

1. Read the Bible cover to cover
2. Pay off student loans
3. Look FAB at 30...I would normally say “get skinny,” but #16 doesn’t really do me any favors, so instead of anything specific like a certain weight or fit into my favorite jeans, I will strive for fabulous-ness, whatever weight that is!
4. Sing karaoke
5. Give 30-$100 random acts of kindness (anonymous, if possible)
6. Start a fun business
7. Finish Generation’s Cookbook
8. Read 30 books
9. Go on a family vacation
10. Go on a girl’s trip
11. Go on a getaway with Craig
12. Finish current to-do list for the new house-decorating
13. Finish to-do list for the new house-organizing
14. Get zumba certified and teach a class
15. Try something “out there” as far as looks go (temporary, of course!)
16. Add to our family
17. Visit 4 new states for a total of 30
18. Go to the Farmer’s Market, buy something, and cook with it
19. Go to Vegas
20. Play 18 holes of real golf and keep score
21. Try out one of the zip-line tours around Nashville
22. Kill a deer
23. Get a bikini wax
24. Change a tire
25. Make personal, career financial goal in one year
26. Learn to make biscuits from scratch
27. Volunteer at the Nashville Rescue Mission
28. Experience Nashville (Loveless Cafe, Bluebird, Ryman, Grand Ole’ Opry, Country Music Hall of Fame, Pred’s game)
29. Run a 5 K
30. Buy myself something FAB...necklace from Tiffany’s, Louboutin heels or Chanel earrings...celebrate 30 in style!

I have a little under 20 months...so I better get busy!!!!

Happy New Year…Goodbye 2012, Hello 2013

Out with the old, and in with the new…literally, in our case, since we will finally be settling in to our new house now that the holidays are over.  The last night of the year wouldn’t be complete without celebrating with the Goode’s.  I can say that our nights have drastically changed since we started this tradition 5 years ago, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.  The Steele’s joined us this year, which made things extra fun.  We didn’t get to play games, but we did have a super yummy meal of taco’s thanks to Rachel, which wouldn’t have been complete without Court’s Rotel that I seem to be even more addicted to lately, and Granny Martha’s chocolate cake that I made successfully for the first time, ever!  The party ended by 8:30, which was about the time Miss Priss started to shut down, Harper fell asleep and Finley was over it all!

I’m definitely looking forward to 2013 and all that it has to bring...but for a little fun, here is a throwback to our first NYE in 2008!  Lookin’ good!

Christmas in Atlanta

A few days after Christmas, we packed the car again and headed to Atlanta to celebrate the holidays with Craig’s family.  On Thursday night we enjoyed a yummy dinner catered from Moe’s and opened presents with Pops, Mamy, Mimi, Grandy, Mawmaw, Aunt Melissa, Aunt Jan and Uncle David.   I honestly don’t remember who all gave what exactly, but Charley racked up again!  She got a prempess carriage, prempess legos, cookie dough set for her kitchen, Minnie Mouse books, Minnie Mouse bank, jammies, robe, little white sweater, and adorable backpack with her named monogrammed on it.

On Friday night we took Charley to see the “Pink Pig” at Macy’s at Lenox in Atlanta.  It’s a tradition that kids have enjoyed since the 50’s, so it was super neat for Charley to experience…in theory!  She actually hated it and cried the whole time…maybe next year???

“Santa Claus Is Coming To Town”

Gramma and I have been singing different Christmas songs to Charley the few weeks before Christmas.  She loved them and even chimed in on the “hey” part of  “Jingle Bells”...which was extra cute!  Even though we didn’t wake up with presents from Santa on Christmas morning, Santa delivered them and they were waiting on us when we got home Christmas afternoon.  I already purchased Charley’s Christmas jammies, so we decided to put them on here while she checked out all of her presents that Santa brought.  Apparently Charley Robinson was extra good this year, because Santa went all out…I guess he wanted to fill up that new playroom!  Charley got a Pottery Barn kitchen, play table and chairs, Cabbage Patch baby doll, blocks, farm animal train, pantry food, stuffed Simba, Minnie Mouse books, stacking owl and a red truck.  (The whole week before Christmas when you asked her what Ho-Ho was bringing her, she said, “a truck” and when you asked what color she said, “red”….all of this didn’t make much sense at first, but she had spent a few days in KY and every day her and Granddad Mike would drive his red, work truck to Granny Katherine’s for breakfast, hence the red truck!)  Oh and the best part of this year was that any time you asked her where Ho-Ho was going to put her gifts she said, “in the boot!” (aka the stocking!)  Her “boot” was also full of goodies including a tea set, Minnie Mouse jewelry, Owl apron, Reece’s pieces, Minnie Mouse car and “Num-Nums” (M&M’s).

To continue our tradition that Craig wanted us to start last year, Dadda and I added to Charley’s jewelry box.  It just so happens that Gramma and I were in NYC in October, and we couldn’t help ourselves when we walked past Tiffany’s on 5th Avenue.  So, Charley got the “little blue box” before her Momma!  She now has the cutest, little necklace with a precious little bow charm.  Needless to say, she wore it for a while, and then we snuck it off of her, tucked it back in the little blue pouch and put it in her jewelry box for safe keeping for a few years.

Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!
