Twinkle Toes Dance Recital

I didn't make it to the dress rehearsal for Charley's recital.  It didn't go super great according to Amma.  Getting ready was rough and Charley lost her mind when the parents got to watch.  Needless to say, my expectations were extra low for stage rehearsal the following week.  Not only did Charley totally shock me by actually doing her dances, she did a great job, and she went on the stage to get her first trophy all.by.herself!  She cannot stop talking about her first trophy!

Even though stage rehearsal went off without a hitch, I was still reluctant for the actual recital.  So for the days leading up to her performance we practiced, visualized, pep talked, and pumped Charley up for how fun it is to perform and show off all of her hard work.  Our "hard work" must have paid off too (along with promised incentives), because Charley and her Twinkle Toes friends did the best job at both of their dances.  The first one was so sweet and graceful, and the second dance was full of sass!  I am so proud of my Dancing Queen!!!

Fun Facts:
1. Charley picked out all four of our outfits the night before.  Her requirements were pink, flowing and/or sparkles.
2.  Carter LOVED it!  She got so excited when the music would play and girls started dancing.
3.  Mascara on a 4 year old is next to impossible...and slightly ridiculous!
4.  We cut 3 inches off Charley's hair the day before to help with the sock bun...it's still super long.
5.  Craig and I are going to encourage gymnastics, t-ball, piano...basically anything...maybe even soccer...so dance, past twinkle toes, is not in our future!  Lifetime's "Dance Mom's" is all I need to say!

Sweet Girl's Day

Right now I am traveling every other week for work.  I miss the girls like crazy, but I'm so thankful for the weeks at home to do things like get Charley's hair cut, go out to lunch and just play in the floor!

Carter's 7 Month Photo Session

The days of Carter sitting still for her monthly photo sessions are over.  Carter is developing the cutest personality.  She jabbers ALL-THE-TIME!  Somehow she managed to jabber "dada" even though I have phonetically practiced "mom-ma" for months!!!  She has started scooting, rolls over and over, and loves to sit and play.  She is such a happy baby...except when she is hungry or sleepy.  And don't mess with that precious girl when Mickey Mouse Clubhouse comes on...she gets so excited and keeps her eyes glued to the tv...just like her Big Sister.
