Being introduced as her Fairy Godmother pretty much made my day! I love these moments even if its just a trip to Kroger with my Princess.

Princess for a Day...Everyday!
Not a day goes by without Miss Priss begging to wear a princess dress. She will put one on and say, “when this gets dirty, I wear another one!” A dress by itself usually doesn’t cut it, so she needs the whole get up including the dress, matching crown, he-haws (high heels), jewels, hairdo, and lipstick. Last week Princess Cinderella accompanied me to Kroger. My typically shy-upon-meeting-strangers child was nowhere to be found. Princess Cinderella waived down, spoke to, twirled, posed for pictures (taken by the strangers) and chatted with EVERY single person in Kroger...for TWO hours! It was hilarious! Her conversations all went pretty much like this, “Hi, I am Princess. My other name is Charley. This is my Fairy Godmother. Her other name is Mommy. I am 2 1/2 right now, but on March 9th, I will be 3. I am having a Princess Birthday Party. I love all the princesses and all the castles! Have a nice day!” The smile only left her face when she grabbed the Hostess cupcakes with a death grip, and said, “I eat these with my Granddad!” And then dumped them in our cart! Oh yeah...she wore her he-haws, and they just so happened to be glass slippers that lit up...not only could you see her from a mile away, you could hear her coming!!!!
Christmas with Mamy and Pops
Right after Christmas, Mamy and Pops came to Mt Juliet to
celebrate. By that point, Miss
Priss didn’t even care about the actual present, but LOVED opening them and
kept saying, “what else!” I think
when you get to that point, you’ve gotten too many presents. I doubt I ever thought that was such a
thing, until I saw the obscene amount of presents that a little girl gets from
everyone! (Note to self: next year
put a limit on family gifts!)
I wasn’t feeling very well, so I don’t exactly remember who gave Charley what, but I know she got a coloring ornament to add to the collection that Mamy and Pops started for her. She also got blocks, play food, cow girl boots, a purse, an outfit, jammies and lip gloss!

Alice the Elf…aka the Shelf
Shortly after Thanksgiving, Alice the Elf and her sparkle
skirt arrived at the Robinson household.
Granny Martha calls Charley “Alice” sometimes to be funny or irritate
her, so Alice seemed like the perfect name. Craig and Amma introduced Alice to Charley while I was out
of town for work, and she insisited on calling it “the Shelf.” At first she didn’t like “the Shelf”
but started to like her more each morning when she got up to look for her. She even started saying better prayers so “the Shelf” wouldn’t go back to the
North Pole and tell Santa that she wasn’t saying her night time prayers. Alice was pretty tame and bounced
around mostly downstairs to places like the different Christmas trees, the
“boot” (stocking), and light fixtures. She had a couple of adventures making hot chocolate
and stealing Charley’s Christmas hair bows. It sure is a shame she had to go back to the North Pole,
because it was so nice having something to back up our behavior threats! “Charley if you don’t _________________
right this minute, I am gonna tell Alice and she will tell Santa and you won’t
get anything for Christmas!” If we
used that line once, we used it 100 times! I am convinced the creator of Elf on the Shelf had a Miss
Priss named Charley or a little blond headed boy named Justin!
