We may have celebrated Christmas morning in Kentucky, but
when we got back to Tennessee Christmas afternoon, Santa Claus had been to
town. Craig was convinced that old
Santa out did himself this year. I
am certain Santa just wanted to fulfill Charley’s wish list of a princess, a
castle and a present. (She also
asked for a baby doll, but Amma and Granddad got that for her.) Santa had everything set up so cute,
and Charley didn’t know where to start.
She got a Disney princess castle, 8 Disney princess dolls, 2 Disney
princes, a baby carriage, Doc McStuffin’s doctor kit, Lambie stuffed animal,
Minimus stuffed animal, USA puzzle, a microphone, and an umbrella. Out of all the fun toys she got from
Santa, her very favorite and most played with toy was the pink, princess
umbrella. It “rained” in our
living room the rest of the night off and on, and luckily she was able to keep
us all dry! Her “boot” was filled
with lots of her favorite things including stickers, lipstick, a movie, a
recorder because it was like a whistle, panties and her first Tervis Tumbler,
princess theme of course.

Santa Claus Came to Tennessee
Christmas Morning in Kentucky
Traditions continued Christmas morning when Granddad and Amma
made a country breakfast for us, Granny Martha, Granddad Charlie, Granny
Katherine and Papa. After
breakfast we opened presents with Granny Martha and Granddad Charlie. Miss Priss assisted in opening each
person’s present, of course not paying attention to what was inside…except for
her presents, which she lost interest in after a couple of minutes. Uncle Justin and Craig got matching
jackets, Granny got her very own Coach purse, Granddad Charlie got an iPad, and
they got me a chandelier for my closet (aka soon to be dressing room!)
Christmas Eve
If I had to sum up our Christmas Eve day in one word, I
would go with special. We had
guests at brunch, fun with cousins, tasty meals, presents, a concert, laughs,
and family bonding….all of which were special parts of one of my favorite days
of the year.
